Cuniburo y Manta – Los Ascendidos a Serie A  (Las figuras que tuvieron, que podríamos ver en 2025 y qué les faltará)

Concluyó la Liga Pro Ecuabet Serie B y dejó como ascendidos a Cuniburo y Manta, si bien es cierto los de Pichincha marcaron su camino varias fechas antes, los manabitas tuvieron que definir su puesto en los últimos partidos en un torneo vibrante.

La campaña de Cuniburo fue muy buena, ya que logró su ascenso como líder absoluto de la clasificación. 35 partidos: 20 victorias, 6 empates y 9 derrotas. Anotaron 61 tantos y recibieron 35.

El Manta mientras tanto obtuvo lo siguiente: 17 victorias, 9 empates y 9 derrotas. 60 puntos cosechados. El récord del Atunero fue notable en las distintas canchas del país, además de haber tenido como una de sus figuras a Christian Alemán.

Si bien es cierto estos dos equipos cosecharon un objetivo complicado a principio de temporada por los clubes que comandaron en su momento la tabla de posiciones. Sin embargo, fueron más resistentes y despuntaron en el camino.

Ahora, hay que hablar de las figuras que destacaron y fueron de gran ayuda para llevar a cumplir el objetivo final a cada institución. Si comenzamos por los campeones, nos encontramos a su goleador, José Lugo, quien convirtió en 21 ocasiones y dio 5 asistencias. Hernán Lino, el ex jugador de Barcelona Sporting Club, es otro de los jugadores que militará en el 2025 en la Liga Pro Serie A. Si revisamos la lista, se extiende un poco más con los nombres importantes que tuvo en su plantilla, entre ellos aparecen Kevin Ushiña, Sergio López y Jefferson Orejuela.

Además de Alemán, otro de los valuartes en el atunero fue Darlin Leiton, quien con siete tantos y cuatro asistencias fue de gran aporte en esta institución, más allá de eso, su entendimiento con la idea principal de su DT, Efrén Mera. El desenvolvimiento, la creación de sociedades, las diagonales y su inteligencia dentro del campo, hicieron que fuera uno de los más distinguidos.

El reto de los ascendidos para el 2025 debe ser la permanencia, lo cual exigirá la inclusión de varios refuerzos pero al mismo tiempo el sostener la base que ayudó a dar este paso importante. Tanto Juan Grabowski como Mera serán los entrenadores encargados de competir contra equipos de mayor presupuesto económico.

Con esto, el equipo duende jugará por primera vez la élite del futbol ecuatoriano, desde su fundación en 1992. Militó en segunda categoría, en 2022 consiguió su ascenso a Serie B y en este 2025 será parte de la Liga Pro Ecuabet Serie A.

Mientras tanto el celeste atunero, revivirá el clásico Mantense ante su rival de patio, Delfín SC. Y volverá a jugar la Serie A tras tres años consecutivos de estar en Serie B, su última temporada fue en el 2021.
